In the first half of 2024, the national 12315 platform received 18,000 complaints related to electronic scales, a year-on-year increase of 45%, of which complaints about low-cost products (unit price below 50 yuan) accounted for 78%. The main focuses of consumer complaints are: inaccurate measurement data (such as the difference of more than 0.5kg for multiple weighings of the same object), shoddy materials (easily broken plastic scale surfaces, rusty metal parts), and lack of after-sales service (merchants refuse to return or exchange goods after failures). According to random inspections by market supervision departments, most low-cost electronic scales are "three-no products" (no brand, no production address, no qualification certificate), failing to pass metrological certification, using shoddy alloy materials for sensors, and lacking calibration procedures. In response, e-commerce platforms have launched special governance, requiring electronic scale merchants to upload metrological verification certificates and product qualification certificates, and taking measures such as removing products and deducting deposits against non-compliant merchants. Consumer associations remind that when purchasing electronic scales, consumers should avoid low-cost traps and prioritize products with brand qualifications and 7-day no-reason return and exchange policies.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance Skills for Common Electronic Scale Failures to Extend Service Life
During the use of electronic scales, failures such as no response when turned on, inaccurate data, and screen flickering are prone to occur. Most problems can be solved through simple troubleshooting: 1. No response when turned on: First check if the battery is dead (try replacing with a new battery) and if the battery compartment has poor contact (clean the battery contacts and adjust the battery position); for plug-in electronic scales, check if the power cord is damaged and if the socket is powered on.
Different scenarios have special requirements for the accuracy, functions, and compliance of electronic scales. Improper use may lead to invalid data or even violations: 1. Medical scenarios: Medical electronic scales used in hospitals and physical examination centers must comply with the "Verification Regulation of Medical Electronic Scales," with an accuracy of ±0.05kg and a range of 0-200kg, and must have calibration traceability functions; electronic scales used for monitoring dialysis patients and diabetic patients need to support data storage and export to facilitate doctors' analysis of weight changes; baby scales must be equipped with anti-fall guardrails and soft scale surfaces to avoid harming babies.
